About Me
I am an experienced coach who specialises in providing individualised well-being solutions that support whole-person health and authentic personal development.
I have thirteen years of experience working with adults from 18 to 94 years of age, including complete beginners, experienced athletes and individuals with physical and mental health conditions and in recovery from injury or serious illness.
I first set foot in a gym when I was fourteen years old, to strengthen my back after a diagnosis of scoliosis. To my surprise I loved it, and began researching fitness and nutrition in my own time while finishing my studies.
After completing my PhD (elegant maths and Schrödinger’s cat have a lot to answer for!), I redirected my professional research to the field of health and well-being. I worked for nine years in a personal training studio that specialised in complex cases and rehabilitation, and, separately, with a programme specialising in fitness for adults over fifty.
I became interested in the many facets of health, from strength to stress management to emotional well-being, and found I wanted to help my clients progress their life ambitions as well as their strength goals. To adapt my approach to these needs, I obtained qualifications in life coaching, exercise for medical conditions, movement to music, Tai Chi and Qigong.
During this time, my personal well-being journey also led me to explore topics such as body-centred psychotherapy, post-traumatic stress, dance movement psychotherapy, functional medicine and mindfulness.
Today I draw from all these resources to create tailored movement and coaching solutions that support a wide variety of goals, from building strength and maintaining joint health, to optimising work performance, to improving personal relationships.
Who do I work with?
I work with individuals looking to:
- Improve strength, fitness, mental well-being and focus
- Manage and improve a health condition
- Complement physiotherapy and/or progress into independent exercise after rehabilitation
- Preserve long-term joint health and mobility
- Manage stress and anxiety
- Progress a specific area of life, such as work or relationships
- Improve eating habits and nutrition
- Create a positive relationship with exercise and the body
I work with adults of all ages, including mature adults with musculoskeletal conditions who have experienced joint replacements. I have also worked with clients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy, and clients in recovery from disordered eating.
I am based in London, and in addition to my own practice I also work with several established charities to promote community health and well-being through collaboration with local council initiatives, registered carers, GP practices and sheltered housing facilities.
